Gucci Gives Back, Again

by Classy

OK, I am going to write this assuming the majority of the people who read this feel the same way I do so please forgive me if you do not agree...

We have all read, heard and seen the spectacular news that countless droves of celebrities are travelling to poverty stricken nations to adopt their orphaned children, right?  This is where my personal opinion comes in so prepare yourself...  I am sick and tired of hearing about how they are working to save nations by simply adopting one child and then selling the first family photographs for millions.  If they would simply take the time and energy they dispense during the adoption process to actually help the entire nation they would earn more points in my book.  Second, do not pat yourself on the back because you donated a whopping million dollars to an orphanage or school.  Any celebrity who can afford to dole out a million here and a million there can afford to dole out several million for one large cause to effect the greater population of people in need.  I realize that you have to start somewhere and that somewhere is normally pretty small compared to the gigantic scale of the planet and all of it's people, but seriously!  Third, simply being a spokesperson for a global organization isn't doing much good either because a tabloid cover isn't the best these celebrities have to offer.

With that said, Gucci has recently announced they will be donating 25% of all sales (not profits) from any purchase of items in the White Heart Tattoo collection to UNICEF.  This is a big deal people!  This, however, is not Gucci's first year to involve themselves with this worthy organization.  Gucci has launched a chosen line each year since 2005 to use as their donation campaign.  It just so happens that this years line is awesome!  We have all seen, and many have purchased, the apparel with tattoos scattered across them and they are hot!  Gucci has now jumped on that bandwagon and will surely take the reigns and lead the masses with their upcoming designs.  Earlier this year Gucci held a major fundraising event in NYC and raised $2.7million dollars for UNICEF.  To date Gucci has donated over $5 million to UNICEF, making Gucci one of the largest international companies who support their cause.

Now, the season of giving is quickly approaching us so make a wise decision this season and purchase a gift that will keep on giving.  Support Gucci, UNICEF and all of the millions of children who will be positively effected by purchasing something from the White Heart Collection.
