photo credit: Tammy Manet    If you peruse through Gucci fashion online you will find their Women's Ready To Wear link and there you will find a wide array of complete looks that are all together fabulous!  I have to admit, I love dresses and I love pretty Gucci dresses paired with stunning Gucci shoes and accessories.

My favorite combination in the Gucci Women's Ready To Wear section begins with the short sleeve flute dress in shell print with ruched sleeves and a front tie in a turquoise shell print 100% silk shantung with brown silk trim.  Hitting right above the knee, it is incredibly cute, sassy and sexy!  The colors used in this silk material would be a great match to any skin tone and hair color combination.  Paired with the Kotao high heel wedge sandals, this is a match made in heaven!  The Kotao sandals are white with a tortoise shell and turquoise accent stripe on the heels.

Love them, love them, love them!!!  That is the first thing I thought when I saw the Gucci Messenger Bags from the Fall/Winter, Cruise and Classic lines.  I am an avid traveler and many times I am travelling on business of some nature so I always tend to have way more stuff to carry around than I would prefer so a Messenger Bag is an ever so useful bag to have handy.

Anytime you are thinking Gucci you always think of the classic web pattern, right?  Well, Gucci also offers a fabulous Messenger Bag that is a bit more casual than the above mentioned leather versions in the web design.  The large Messenger Bag with adjustable signature web shoulder strap has a flap closure with magnetic snap, front zip pocket, inside pocket and a cell phone pocket.  It is beige/ebony GG plus with green/red/green web and brown leather trim.  Again, it's size, 15"l x 4.3"w x 12.6"h, is perfect for carrying anything you might need through an airport, to work or around campus if you are part of the collegiate crowd. 

One final tip...  If you are at the airport and you find yourself with a purse, your Messenger Bag and a carry-on suitcase but TSA is only allowing your to carry through one luggage and one personal item you can simply stack your purse inside the top of your Messenger Bag with the zipper open and count it as your one personal item...

This is the nitty-gritty of collecting. The real Sam Spade work that is required of a good collector in order to set that person apart from the casual consumer or the amateur. A real collector can authenticate every item in his or her collection, showing it's a real Gucci and often detailing where it's been and the story behind the item.

As an example, you're a collector considering a Jackie O bag that is being sold at auction. The price is right, the item appears authentic, and the seller seems honest. So how do you proceed?

First, ask for a serial number (engraved in most Gucci handbag's interior), if an authenticity card (or controllato card) and care card is included, and any provenance that might go with the bag, such as what outlet it was purchased from originally and who's owned it besides the seller.

Often one or more of these can be the only answer you'll need to authenticate the item, but the more of them you can obtain, the better your collectible will be when you purchase it. At the very least, the serial number should not be a problem for the seller to give you and is your biggest key to the item's authentication.

Once you have a serial number for this Jackie O handbag, you can call Gucci directly to find out if the serial number is authentic and what records they have on it. Besides authenticating the serial number, which they will gladly do, you can also obtain sales records for a collectible item and other provenance you may wish to have with the item. This will likely come with a fee, of course, but for the serious collector, it's worth it. Make sure they know it's for a collectible and you wish to have the information certified by them (a letter of certification will accompany the information).

Finally, purchase with the knowledge that you've not only collected a great Jackie O bag for your collection, but that you've done your homework to authenticate and prove provenance on the Gucci as well.
